January 23, 2019 (Slave Lake, AB): United Conservative Leader Jason Kenney will visit twelve communities over the next three days as he launches the Alberta Strong & Free Northern Alberta tour. Kicking off this morning in Slave Lake for a series of meetings with United Conservative candidate Pat Rehn, Kenney says the northern Alberta tour is an opportunity to bring the Alberta Strong & Free message to a part of the province forgotten by the Alberta NDP.
“Today, I spoke with hundreds of frustrated Albertans that are looking to our United Conservative Party for hope and to reverse some of the Notley NDP’s damaging policies,” Kenney said. “The impact of the carbon tax is felt especially by these northern communities where driving their vehicles or heating their homes are simply not optional. Our candidate, Pat Rehn, has a tremendous amount of support and I expect that will continue to grow as more and more people hear of our plans to reignite the economy, renew the Alberta Advantage, and to build Alberta Strong & Free.”
The Alberta Strong & Free Northern Alberta tour builds off the tremendous momentum generated by the United Conservative’s record fundraising efforts. Elections Alberta revealed today that the UCP raised 50 per cent more in donations in 2018 than all other parties combined. Kenney believes the momentum will grow as he continues his northern tour, introducing residents to a strong team of United Conservative candidates.
“I’m looking forward to spending the next few days with a strong and diverse group of northern Alberta candidates like Tracy Allard (Grande Prairie), Dan Williams (Peace River), Travis Toews (Grande Prairie-Wapiti), and Todd Loewen (Central Peace-Notley). We have an incredibly talented team representing a new generation of leadership. We know we have the momentum, but the hardest work is still ahead and we’re committed to getting the job done.”
