EDMONTON, AB (April 4, 2019): Once again, the anti-oil views of the NDP has been exposed.
During a debate on Tuesday night, NDP Drumheller-Stettler candidate Holly Heffernan declared that she wanted “less [sic] oil-based jobs.”
MODERATOR: “What steps are you planning to take to protect and preserve our environment?”
HEFFERNAN: “We’re going to diversify our economy and look towards less oil-based jobs. Am I making sense?”
“Rachel Notley and the NDP have tried to talk a good game to save their political skins, but Albertans know that this is the same NDP that routinely condemned our province’s oil & gas industry prior to forming government,” said UCP Candidate for Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre Jason Nixon.
“In the four years of NDP Government, Alberta has seen jobs in the oil & gas industry disappear, often moving south of the border to more attractive jurisdictions. Now we’ve once again witnessed the NDP’s anti-oil & gas agenda on full display.”
“There’s little doubt that NDP Candidate Holly Heffernan would get her wish should Rachel Notley and the NDP win a second term on April 16,” concluded Nixon.
