Today, NDP leader Rachel Notley promised that the NDP would add 2,000 more seniors’ care beds – in addition to the 2,000 promised in 2015.

But the only reason the NDP met their 2015 target of 2,000 beds was by counting at least 1,758 beds from a PC government era program relying on private firms.

The NDP’s new bed-building program will exclude the very firms that let them meet their previous target.

In fact, the NDP have also been missing their own targets for accessing long-term care beds for years.

It’s no wonder the NDP are desperate to talk about anything but their record.
